Welcome to Colinsburgh Town Hall News!
Welcome to your brand new website from Colinsburgh Town Hall. My name is Karen Wilkieson and I have been Chairperson for the Town Hall Management Committee since March this year. There’s a bit more information about me and some of the other committee members on our commitee page, so you can find out a bit more about us all.
There is a huge amount going on with the Town Hall and as the building is owned by the Community it seems only right that we keep you up to date with what’s happening – hence the website and our new newsletter.
We now have a committee of FOURTEEN people from Colinsburgh and Kilconquahar which is absolutely fantastic. As Chairperson it is great to have so much support and we have a brilliant group of people with hugely diverse talents and great energy and enthusiasm. When I took on the role of Chairperson at this years AGM, I was somewhat nervous of the idea as it felt a bit like a poisoned chalice, but when the meeting ended with so many new volunteers to boost the hardworking group that was already in place I was surprised to find myself feeling really quite excited about the future of the Hall and it’s Committee.
I’m sure you already know that we need to raise a huge amount of money to make significant improvements to the Hall; but, on the positive side, thanks to a great many peoples efforts and your support, our bank balance is healthier than it has been for years. This is enabling us to carry out much needed basic maintenance like roof repairs, painting of exterior woodwork, repairs and re-plastering of the wall in the ante-room and insulation of the main hall ceiling. However, as you can imagine, we have an awfully long way to go with our fundraising, so any support you can give by attending any of the events advertised really would be welcome. Also, any member of the committee will be very happy to listen to idea’s you may have for fundraising.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our site, any constructive feedback on its content and format will be gratefully received and we encourage you to leave comments on any of the stories on our news page. Please continue to support us in whatever way you can.
Cheers,
Karen
